ITINERARY This is our suggested itinerary- please feel free to give us directions! 06:00 AM Pick up from Delhi hotel and drive to Agra (200kms / 4 hrs). Arrive at Agra around 1030 hrs & proceed to the Taj Mahal-The world famous mausoleum of Shah Jahan’s wife Mumtaz Mahal. The Taj has been aptly described the great Indian poet Rabindranath Tagore as ‘ A teardrop on the face of time’ 12:30 PM Proceed for the red fort- which is 2.5 km northwest of the Taj Mahal. This is referred to as the most important fort in India. All great Mughal Emporers such as Babur, Humayun, Akbar, Jehangir, Shah Jahan and Aurangzeb lived here. The mughal glory is still intact and preserved at this monument. 14:00 PM Sumptuous lunch at leisure. 15:00 PM Optional visit to local handicrafts and leather bazaar or visit to marble factory to see the dying art of marble inlay craftsmanship. 16:00 PM Drive back to Delhi visiting Sikandra enroute- The tomb of Akbar the Great and first monument in Agra to be built in white marble and red sandstone. 17:00 PM Depart for Delhi. 22:00 PM Drop off at your destination in Delhi.
